Grey Seal Cottage is a few minutes walk from the quay where local fishermen bring in their catches and children fish for crabs. It is always a hive of activity with lots of cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. Wells has a butcher, greengrocer, deli and several bakers plus a supermarket all within walking distance. There is a great selection of pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy.
Wells beach is a wonderful stretch of sand as far as the eye can see, right at the end of the sea wall about a mile away from the quay. You can either walk to the beach or take a 5 minute ride by beach bus. Brightly painted beach huts, which you can rent, line the beach. You can carry on down the beach and go as far as Holkham or beyond stopping at the Lookout cafe on the way. There are many other beaches in the area to explore plus lots of pretty inland villages which are best visited by bike if you fancy a slower pace of discovery.
There is so much to do in Wells and North Norfolk from sailing and bird watching to walking or just relaxing and taking it easy.
